Nieporte News ! Please scroll down to view the latest news about the expanded nieporte family and name! ******************************************************************* This website was first published this 14th day of December of the year 2003. It is the first Nieporte website to be created, but we may find in time others but for now this site is our site. Please feel free to contribute news, special events, family reunions, items of general interest to our family members far and wide; and especially, please contribute photographs! Photo's sent electronically will be added to our fledgling photo gallery so that all might see and hear stories of our older folk' and likewise see the new little ones born into the world now. Photos will be kept private if requested but hopefully and by and large, we hope that all sent into us will be of the type to be almost immediately posted to the appropriate photo gallery. I realize that it is difficult for our senior members of our family to use the computer, but maybe there are a few out there. If not get your children or grandchildren to contribute things for you. I think that it will be great fun to see yourself on the world wide web after having just caught that huge (well maybe not quite so huge) fish that you are proudly holding up for the camera. Or the 60th wedding anniversary of one of our far flung family members. Anything as we begin this adventure, is fair and newsworthy. I will post information as soon as it is ready to be posted as some things might take some special programming or graphics preparations, but in general I will try and keep it up monthly or more often as the case may be. He is a minister who writes a weekly sermon that is often posted to the web for all to read. I am requesting from him a little bio-sketch on himself and his family to add to our site soon. **************************************************************************** 1/4/04 I just added many more photos to our site here this past Sunday night. For anyone's information, I will be most likely posting all new things and features to the website every (almost) Sunday. This weeks additions include a family photo of my family. I also rearranged the order of the existing photos. And I have added some wonderful German city maps. These will really bring to life where our progenitors have come from in the 'old country. Simply take the 'maps' link off of the main genealogy site web page. **************************************************************************** 1/4/04 I called and spoke with Mrs. Monica (Nieporte) Koren in The Plains, Ohio on Sunday. She and I have be collaborating together on genealogy for nearly 10 years now. She is the new managing editor of the local newspaper there. You can read about her and her new appointment in our genealogy links page. Her branch of the Nieporte family is up north in the Canton, Ohio area where my family branch is south in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Our common ancestors are from Germany but we are still searching for the precise one here first in America. She has graciously agreed to write a few stories for the Nieporte site over the next several months as she has the time to do so. We will all surely enjoy that as she is a professional newspaper woman and reporter. She writes, Dear Jack,
I really enjoyed the website and I have told my father and uncle about it also. I am working on a document about myself and my family and will send it to you as soon as possible. I was wondering who the other Lindsay Nieporte was, and that would be neat to email each other. You could give her my email address and when she has time to write, that would be great. suppose athletics runs in our "family".
I am currently in my fourth and final year at Morehead State University and I have won two National Championships in cheerleading and I am going for my third in a week. We go to Disney World in Orlando Florida to compete. My school has won 13 Championships since 1988, so we hope to keep the tradition going.
I don't mind at all if you put my website link on your website, I will send you other website links if you would like. Thank you for getting in touch with me and I will email my own family history as soon as I have time to work on it.

Tonight I also added some important historical information for all to read regarding our ancestral destination and landing point once in from Europe, into Cincinnati. Please follow this link to that page. This includes links to other internal pages on this site that include statistical US Census data and a wonderful map of early Cincinnati all within the context of us learning more about our early ancestors that came into this city and made their homes there. It and many other new things like this I will continue to post here as often as I deem it necessary to do so, all important additions to the site. So, each time you visit us here please always read through the news updates, etc prior to proceeding on to pick up tips on what is new.
