There is not a proper gathering place for superintendents to get together online and discuss areas of personal and career improvement that we are presently aware of and so we are launching one! It is December 2003 and our site is under development and will be for many months to come. We are working on the creation of a formal charter and bylaws.
Jack Nieporte created in semi-partnership with THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HOME BUILDERS in Washington, D. C., a formal residential and commercial construction superintendents training course. This was back in 1988-89. Mr. Nieporte has trained many hundreds of superintendents over the span of his 33 year professional career. And so with the advent of readily accessible Internet and World Wide Web, launching this Institute seems like a good and productive thing to do.
Our site will feature articles on interesting subjects that either our company will originate or our guests who will hopefully offer ones in which they are interested; additionally, it will have regular online discussion groups sponsored by the Institute where many attendees will be able to 'chat' one with the other as other newsgroup types in other industries do all of the time. We will also host special guest online speakers that have credentials or other capabilities suitable to address construction superintendents on a broad scale. We will sponsor forums, conferences and seminars (webinars) for our participants.
The primary purpose of this aspect of our construction management site will be simply to get construction superintendents together in one online place and at one time.
