Frequently Asked Questions FAQ's

Q.

Why would a builder/developer, bondable commercial/industrial general contractor use your services?

A.

We can save you significant money that put to the bottom-line will increase your profitability by 25% to as much as 300% or more. It becomes quite easy to show that if given the chance.

Q.

Will this website explain what offerings of services that you have that are online here and/or in person?

A.

Yes. The offerings listed on our services page | troubleshooting page | statement of qualifications (to a lesser extent) delineate these but others may need further explaining. Please email us with any further questions and we will try and answer those as quickly as possible.

Q.

Are your services too expensive for a small-medium size builder to afford?

A.

We don't think so. In fact you are most likely already spending any money that you would pay our firm in lost time, low profits, and poor production performance in your business. The money is certainly going out the door and our services will allow you to capture a goodly portion of those monies before they leave your wallet or accounting office.

Q.

Do you concentrate on just one type of builder or is there something here for any type or size builder?

A.

We have worked with all types and enjoy the diversity of assignments from year to year. Look at both our logo header and the pages herein that reflect our services, qualifications, projects and assignment types that we have participated in over the years.

Q.

Do Architects ever use your services?

A.

Yes, more than one might think. We have one regional firm that calls whenever their is a tight time frame or project that needs something that we offer. Please see our qualifications page for a few assignment types that we have done before.

Q.

What is your ONE or TWO-DAY EVALUATION?

A.

We generally require one site visit to your offices and field locations prior to presenting a proposal to you for our on-premises consulting or training services. This visit allows us to see first-hand who you and your key associates are, the office setting, mood, and working environment, computer and/or manual production systems that you use, as well as the type and size of the projects that you construct and either sell or build for clients. It also allows us to be a fly-on-the-wall and interview each of your key office-field management staff and ask them some very hard and candid questions. All of this is done in one-day for small-medium sized companies and possibly as much as two-day visit for the larger/giant builders and/or more complicated type companies.

Our view of the size of a company in any of our notations here or throughout our entire website, is that similar or the same as the NAHB uses: small is $ 1 million dollars in gross sales annual volume or less; medium is $5 million dollars in gross annual sales volume; large is $15 million dollars or less; and giant is anything over $15 million dollars. These are approximate of course.

Q.

What is the cost for this EVALUATION?

A.

We charge a (mostly) set fee for this early-on evaluation service. We have had this program in place since we began in 1986. We charge upfront (50% of EVALUATION FEE plus a prepaid airline ticket and hotel room; the same applies to either of the geographical location options) of either $1500/per day plus expenses for East coast work; or $1000 per/ day plus expenses for West coast.

Of course if you work with us online the above costs and fees don't apply.

The other offerings that we have on our overall site are listed in full with adequate explanations, benefits and other costs or fees that will apply for each service and/or item that you might have an interest in using or purchasing. These are listed on our fee's page.

Q.

What about your master JNA Portal costs/fees, are they included on the Fee's Page?

A.

No. These fees are more complicated to determine. We have standard packages within the Portal site. These are for our ongoing clients where we have mutually entered into a performance contract, etc.

Q.

What are the costs for your subscriptions, reports, white-papers, and e-zine's?

A.

These subscription and document fees are displayed on the subscription-fee and product description page.

Q.

We build in a state that has harsh winters, frozen ground and work really slows down during the winter. How can you help us.

A.

JNA has worked in most of the northern states and during the harsh frozen winters like you say. We slow up the schedule some during these months but have developed a few strategies that work in these circumstances.

Q.

Our subs and suppliers are swamped with other work and we can't get them when we need them?

A.

This is an extremely important question that rests with most companies that we have worked with over the years. We have remedies that can work for most situations.

Q.

Can it be cost effective for us to hire your firm to come to our location and train us in your methods?

A.

Yes. We have trained very small companies in the past. Our fees are such that they are offset quite easily with even building as a small volume builder. We might recommend that you purchase some of our e-products and services first. Also, read below regarding our JNA Portal site.

Q.

What is your master JNA Portal that is on the menu bar on one of your pages?

A.

This is a new feature for our company and it could only be designed and implemented by us via the use of the Internet and sophisticated PC's and software. This portal denotes something much larger and deeper in content then a mere website can offer.

Q.

So what's in the Portal and how might we access it?

A.

The portal is being developed in stages over the year 2004. Currently if you will from time to time check our site's internal news link it will have updates and a schedule posted on what and when each stage will be up and serviceable for use. We will have a small-medium volume builder's process-driven system up for use by builders that don't otherwise have their own in place; or perhaps one that they don't like. Ours will be structured with the knowledge and experience that we have learned over three-decades of building, consulting and training companies.

Access will be through an initial site registration and password process. An online contract will first be required via the automated JNA website contract's page. It is a simple contract to use.

The Portal will have at least these exciting performance enhancing components:

    -    Formally structured process-driven management system for building a house of project. It will contain all of the issues, problems with resolutions built into the system like artificial intelligence and expert systems. Don't confuse this product/service with some fancy software that you have purchased somewhere. It is not software. It is not sold anywhere but on this site; and then it isn't for sale but will be utilized by builders on a small monthly subscription basis. You will run all of your projects through this system and it will nearly guarantee that you will cut your construction time in half, at least.

    -    Reports and 'white papers' that address deeper problems in the actual execution of a fast project. There are approximately fifty topics that in time will be posted to this portal.

    -    Efficiency and productivity tools that go way beyond the fancy software that it is out there. Our e/p tools will make so much sense that you will identify with them instantly--or you are not a real builder, that runs a business. These will also include charts and graphs profiling your progress or lack thereof across a timeline, e. g., a six-month or twelve-month running account of your production and Fastrack compliance performance.

    -    Our JNA Production Profiling tools. These tools have been used by us for better than a decade and exhibit demonstrably how construction people think, act and interact together, viewing these points from different personal perspectives. It culminates with a rich report summary with graphics. All of this will be available online here and once completed by each person in the production-chain, with very few exceptions as currently envisioned.

    -    Training course materials, tests and supporting documentation that we have used for two decades in the field and office. This is the course that teaches one how to build very fast; step-by-step.

    -    Our JNA Field Superintendent Training Course will be included in the Portal. This is a 700 page original work. Jack Nieporte created in cooperation with the National Association of Home Builders in 1988-1989. It was to be used originally as one or their sponsored programs. This is a course with two volumes and 32 individual lessons and associated tests, to train new or upcoming superintendents in the secrets of being a field superintendent that is being required to build something faster than normal.

    -    Our JNA process-driven systems design tools and associated documentation, that we call our JNA OMSD program. This tool/documentation creates a production-driven and focused corporate system. This program is not a software program and is unique and copyrighted by our company. It will be shown how this tool and system design process can benefit any company that does things the wrong way. It comes to mind as a side note, what one of our largest clients used to say when he called the office: Jack, we have identified the enemy and it is us! This tool turns that problem around once and for all. It is powerful it truly is.

Q.

What is the best way for utilizing your site's primary benefits? What are your offerings?

A.

We offer several aspects of our overall site portfolio of offerings. Please consult our JNA Services /Troubleshooting pages online here. Here are some of the key ones:
